Energies of the Full Moon Eclipse Jan 20-21, 2019

If you’ve been playing along, a few weeks ago I introduced my readers to a few major collections of planetary influences that are playing out through December into January. Some will last well into the next year but will go through changes along the way.

In this writeup, I want to mention that it’s based around the Full Moon eclipse so the emotional impact of this time period should be stronger or more obvious. Yet, in any case, the slower long-term aspects are in the background and a few of them have many months in which to play out.

As with all my reports, I provide the conclusion first followed by the details and then the raw data.

Conclusion

New Sun Moon aspect – The actual eclipse is positioned at 1 degree in both Aquarius, for the Sun and Leo for the Moon. This degree of Aquarius represents a primaeval fight for independence or the fight to get out from under the restrictions that restrain the leaders. At the same time, the energy from Pallas that has been ravaging Europe is brought into play here suggesting that this eclipse may elevate the unrest and riots to a more global scale. It may feel painful, but growth will be found in it.

New Venus Jupiter aspect – There is a short period of time where there will be high interest in some type of cultural event or activities. The mature feminine will be in play acting diplomatically and there will be the male and female tensions of attraction. This could play out in money being made or lost, or a lawsuit being won or lost. If there is any politics in play, the agitation comes from the left, full of emotions of discord.

Mercury Saturn Pluto aspect – This is a long-term energy that will be triggered by Mercury up and through the eclipse. This square seems to be all about the cultural transformation on a fundamental level that is done so under the tight regulation of Saturn. All the squares to this conjunction show that this is going to be a fight for higher moral and ethical values that will be demanded from world leadership from the political right. We may see police actions from leadership that is stated to be practical reactions to the situation which will not alleviate the situation.

Uranus Eris aspect – This aspect has been in affect for a long time and can be associated with the uprisings, rebellion and riots that we’ve seen around the world. When these planets turned direct, the focus was on government and how it will move forward. This aspect shows that Pallas has come in suggesting that the chaos that has rolled through Europe is going to continue moving east to press up against the Ukraine, Turkey and Egypt. Expect people to stand up for their individual rights and expect the leaders to break their promises.

Ceres Juno aspect – This is a low-level influence that should fester in the background regarding the homelife and family situations because there is conflict between the act of nurturing and where our loyalties lie. Expect touchy or painful intimacy situations where relationships are tested.

Pallas Vesta aspect – Here we have a low-level feminine energy that will be lasting all winter which accentuates the need to stand your ground to defend what you know is the truth being agitated in action. This area deals with everyday home life regarding issues of sensitivity, or intimacy along with education. As the Sun and Mercury swing by, it brings up issues regarding male authority that will be talked about.

Overall, the eclipse should bring out a sense of panic in the leaders as they will want to show their independence and fight to get free of the energies that shape them. It is that energy to clear you name or state your case. To the general public, they will not be happy with the show and why will act. Throughout the aspects, there are underlying moral and ethical issues that are the baseline of what needs to be addressed, yet it’s just festering in the background.

The other thing that really stands out to me is the trek of Pallas across Europe. It will be in a perfect opposition to Uranus come February 7-8th yet it is standing still to turn retrograde. While it’s standing there, Mars conjuncts Uranus in Aries which will energize Pallas’s journey back to Germany. Pallas turns direct over Germany around June and doesn’t leave Libra until September.

Dave

Now, what follows is the collection of major aspects and my interpretation. At the end, you’ll find a link to the raw data that I used as research.

Summary of Major Aspects Groups

Mercury (25°) & Saturn (14°) & Pluto (21°) Conjunct in Capricorn

– Uranus in Aries (29°) Square (~90°) Mercury Pluto
– Pallas in Libra (27°) Square (~90°) Mercury Pluto
– Juno in Taurus (24°) Trine (~120°) Mercury Pluto
– Eris in Aries (23°) Square (~90°) Mercury Pluto
– Mars in Aries (14°) Square (~90°) Saturn

What’s new? Pretty much the entire cord.

The Saturn Pluto conjunction is going to be an exciting aspect to watch unfold over the next year and more. The perfect conjunction doesn’t happen until Jan 18th, 2020. But when it does, it will be memorable! (Full Moon Jan 10th, 2020 with Mercury, Sun, Ceres, Saturn and Pluto conjunct with both Eris and Juno square the conjunction.)

This is all playing out in Capricorn which wants to accentuate being responsible, disciplined and showing self-control. There is a strong sense of family, commitment to work well done, and the drive to fully master the art of the practice.

Saturn is all about restraint and restrictions. It is the energy of roadblocks that help build character. It has dominion over regulations, formalities, tradition, order, rules and deals with the elderly and death, sickness, epidemics, funerals and anything else that deals with public sadness and disappointment.

Saturn is compressing against Pluto which is all things hidden in the subconscious. Pluto is about transformation, metamorphosis, regeneration and detection. Pluto has dominion over secret information, hidden resources and societies, violence, dictatorship, secret police, organized crime, espionage and rape.

Over the upcoming year, as these planets compress, I would expect the strict adherence to rules and regulations will envelope aspects of the underworld that need to be transformed or changed. And, there will be lots of opportunities to write about this, so let’s get that party started.

On Jan 13th, Mercury conjuncts Saturn. On the 18th, it’s perfect on Pluto. Come the 20th, it is conjunct Pluto compressing up against the Sun. Even though the transits from Mercury are relatively brief, as it passes both these planets it spans nearly two weeks’ worth of time.

Mercury is the energy of the messenger. It is the energy that passes between two people that builds intellect. It is communication in all it’s physical and non-physical forms. It has dominion over journalists, reporters, teachers, the internet, schools, colleges, phone and TV. This deals with the writing of law or the distribution of propaganda or political lobbying. It has a wide scope, but a short duration.

Leading up to the eclipse, there will be a brief period of time where Saturn’s restrictive energy is dominate. Shortly thereafter, the restrictions start to break down and the secrets will really start to flow. By the time we get to the eclipse, Mercury will be waning but the energy will be captured by the eclipse so it can play out over a longer period of time.

So, we have Mercury wanting to bring out secrets, yet Saturn is doing everything that it can to restrict the situation. What other influences are present here?

– Uranus in Aries (29°) Square (~90°) Mercury Pluto

To start with, the Uranus square will peak on Feb 7th, showing that this energy is building at the time of the eclipse but should be out of play come the end of March after Uranus enters Taurus. The Uranian energy is coming from a place of Aries which accentuates the fighting spirit, yet it’s square so it should come across as forceful, aggressive and moody. It’s the type of energy that drives events without your consent – you are just forced to react. Uranus is that drive towards individualism that embodies right-wing political ideals. It’s free markets, anarchy and unrulily events. Being square Mercury and Pluto, there should be a rebellious fighting energy to expose secrets or things that have been hidden and it will be communicated to humanity. This electrified energy of Uranus will probably force the secrets into the spotlight.

– Pallas in Libra (27°) Square (~90°) Mercury Pluto

On the other side of the conjunction, we have Pallas setup square. Pallas is the feminine blend of Mars and Jupiter that is politically crafty and wants to diplomatically work through situations. The energy demands of those that it influences the highest of ethical and moral standards. The direct influence that Pallas brings, has played out in Europe over the last few months moving west to east. Expect this influence to come in fighting for ethical and moral values as the secrets bubble up under the Pluto influence.

– Eris in Aries (23°) Square (~90°) Mercury Pluto

The Eris energy, being 23 degrees Aries splits the Pluto Mercury conjunction to with agitation via the square. Knowing that Eris is the asteroid that feeds off of confusion that it stirs up, we’re going to have to expect the bickering to be on full display which means it will overflow into the conversations that everyone is going to have. People will be pitted against each other even if they don’t really know what they are bickering about.

– Mars in Aries (14°) Square (~90°) Saturn

Mars is going to be nearly at a perfect square with Saturn. Mars, being at home in Aries, is going to be at it’s best as it brings out the most resistive aspects that it can in Saturn. This could bring out police action, soldiers, military conflict, strikes, protests and riots. The opposition location for Mars is over Germany, Italy and central Africa.

– Juno in Taurus (24°) Trine (~120°) Mercury Pluto

The good news for this aspect is that it’s drawing in energy from Juno which is associated with loyalty and faithfulness. It naturally brings things together so that they can work out the issues in a practical way. Thus, when we look at the strife that’s coming from the squares above, this energy may play out like ‘it was just practical to send out the riot control police’ or ‘it was just practical to issue a curfew.’ In any case, this energy should make the fight tactile and real.

Venus (15°) & Jupiter (16°) Conjunct in Sagittarius

– Mars in Aries (14°) Trine (~120°) Conjunction
– Neptune in Pisces (15°) Square (~90°) Conjunction
– Eris in Aries (23°) Trine (~120°) Jupiter

What’s new? The entire configuration

Even though the transit of Venus conjunct Jupiter fully plays out in about 8 days, the timing of the transit is significant seeing that it’s happening at a lunar eclipse. I would expect that we will feel what happens here for a while.

Let’s look at the details. As you’re probably already aware, Jupiter rules Sagittarius. This is the sign when big things come into play. It’s idealistic and freedom loving. Its energy that allows you to speak your mind no matter what the consequences are. It has fire at its heart and wants to transform things for the better.

To this, we add Venus. This planet carries the mature feminine archetype that deals with social and cultural affairs. It is associated with how people express themselves as in art, fashion, luxury, leisure, entertainment and glamour. It is also linked to money, shopping, diplomacy, marriage in ways that benefit everyone involved.

To this, we add Jupiter. Jupiter is all about wisdom, moderation, generosity, prosperity and abundance. The judicial, religious and banking systems are tied directly to this planet.

Looking just at the conjunction, there appears to be this short period of time where there will be an abundance of cultural beauty that will warm the hearts and inspire people to think and act big. This is a setup that can resolve situations through diplomacy and empower people with a real sense of freedom in which they can express themselves. The energy could feel like being on the winning side of a lawsuit, or having a religious experience, or finding extra excitement in entertainment.

This energy is supported via a trine from Mars in Aries. This is an aspect that will really ignite the passion as it enhances the drive to participate. This will be active involvement that will be worth being courageous for. This will accentuate the male female sexuality energy.

From Eris, the conjunction will get an extra push to be feisty, active and talkative. Eris energy will want to stir things up to make everyone and everything uncomfortable. This is the type of energy that would make people feel vulnerable or sensitive.

The 16th degree in Sagittarius is a degree that is filled with humor and excitement which is all about self. In Tarot, it is about self and the ego.

The harder influence comes in from Neptune in Pisces. Neptune is exalted in Pisces which normally accentuates the gentle, intuitive attributes, yet in this case it’s in a hard aspect suggesting the energies turn to being fearful, sad or feeling like a victim.

We also need to consider that Neptune is associated with psychic abilities and imagination. It is also linked to socialism or left-wing political ideals, covert or secret plots, fraud, illicit activities, sedition along with all things liquid.

So, what does all this mean? Leading up and to the eclipse, there is a building feminine energy that could manifest as economic, social or religious event that will have overtones that manifest as humorous that builds excitement. It could very well be entertainment that might go a little to far for the likes of Neptunian people leaving them feeling sad or victimized. There is definitely a sense of self-centeredness or ego in this energy and it will most definitely leave a number of people feeling uncomfortable.

But no worries, it’s just eclipse energy and you know it’s coming!

The opposition energies for this conjunction are found in central Gemini which is centered around Mexico City and extend north through western Texas.

Uranus (29°) & Eris (23°) Conjunct in Aries

– Mercury in Capricorn (25°) Square (~90°) Conjunction
– Pluto in Capricorn (21°) Square (~90°) Conjunction
– Pallas in Libra (27°) Opposition (~180°) Conjunction
– Sun in Aquarius (1°) Square (~90°) Uranus
– Moon in Leo (1°) Square (~90°) Uranus
– Jupiter in Sagittarius (16°) Trine (~120°) Eris
– Ceres in Scorpio (28°) Quincunx (~150°) Uranus

What’s new? Mercury from square to trine, Sun Moon opposition square Uranus, Jupiter now trine Eris. Both Uranus and Eris have turned direct.

To review, back near the New Moon both Uranus and Eris turned direct. The Degree that Eris turned on highlighted anything to do with governments. Where Uranus turned has to do with thinking out into the future – planning for the future. Also keep in mind that this conjunction should be in play until early April, thus we have some time for this to play out.

For the details, Uranus is about scientific discoveries, inventions, explosions, anarchy, rebellion, unrest and right-wing political ideals while Eris is an asteroid of confusion, disarray and discord. Even though the conjunction is waning, these two objects continue to amplify each other to make sure people stay in a state of bickering or confrontation.

Pallas is still directly opposing both Uranus and Eris. It would naturally fight for balance and harmony; thus, the opposition is still suggesting that the rebellious energy of Uranus and the disarray from Eris is still up against legal battles focused around justice. Also note that because this is an opposition, the things that Uranus influences would be seen as being at odds with justice and the legal system in such a way as to drain the participants personal power.

Keep in mind that Pallas has been working her way across Europe. Middle of October she showed up on the coast of Spain, by the first week in November she’d found Paris and London, by the first week in December Germany and Italy, by Christmas, central Poland and now, approaching Turkey and Ukraine. In a couple weeks, it will be directly over Istanbul and working its way through Cairo where it stands still to turn retrograde. At that point, it comes all the way back to Germany. Look for that fighting spirit of independence to play out along this path as we work our way towards summer, particularly if you’ve been following the news out of Europe.

For more details, Pluto is still square agitating the explosive, rebellious, deceitful and lawless nature of the right-wing political people around the world. I’m not saying that right loving people are these things, but the energy suggests that the darker aspects will be what is noticed or focused on. The good news is that when this energy is vented, it will be done in a responsible, disciplined way. It will seem like there is self-control in the outbursts as if there is a point being made rather than outright rage.

With Ceres in a quincunx to Uranus, that feminine nurturing energy, or the people with this type of energy, will continue to not understand what the right is doing. This could play out as showing a general feminine resistance of delay which will feed the agitation that drives strikes, riots and rebellion.

Now, what’s changed? The energy of misunderstandings that was channeled through Venus during the New Mon has been handed off to Ceres making way for the eclipse.

The lunar eclipse that plays out does so in a square with this conjunction and with the Sun moving into Aquarius. This is normally a progressive, independent, humanitarian type of energy that will stand up for a cause, listen and hold an intellectual conversation. Yet in this case the energy is harder than normal thus it can play out as people being eccentric, temperamental, uncompromising and aloof particularly from the leaders. It can lead to broken promises from leadership and refusing to do what you would intuitively expect of them to do. The Moon will just be entering Leo which is generally a warm-hearted, creative and generous sign, yet it to is in a hard aspect so we should expect the people to be inflexible and see the arrogance of the leaders as it plays out.

Putting the eclipse together, we have the energy around the leaders (anyone in positions of power) feeling a strong sense of independence, yet not towards the chaos that Uranus and Eris have been displaying around the world. It’s as if the people’s attention will get caught up in the show and the showmanship that is playing out but it won’t be in agreement to what the leaders choose to do. The public is in an opposition situation which could feed into the rebellious nature linked to Uranus.

The other aspect that is very interesting in this celestial cord is the trine that Jupiter makes to Eris. Jupiter is exalted in Sagittarius which is a generous, freedom loving, idealistic type of energy which wants to think and live large. It is in a trine with Eris which will embolden this asteroid of mischief to really turn on the chaos. This synergy is going to build all the way into March before dissolving come July.

Remember, this energy is tied directly to what the leaders do and what the people perceive. To me, it looks like the asteroid of bickering is supported in a way to really bring out the arguments that can stem from nothing. Seems like we’re going to continue to get explosive responses to temperamental and uncompromising leadership.

Sun in Aquarius (1°) Opposition (~180°) Moon in Leo (1°)

– Uranus in Aries (29°) Square (~90°) Sun Moon
– Chiron in Pisces (29°) Trine (~120°) Moon
– Ceres in Scorpio (28°) Trine (~120°) Moon
– Pallas in Libra (27°) Square (~90°) Sun

What’s new? This is the eclipse.

Seeing that this is an eclipse, this might be the predominant energy that stands out for this report. Yes, the transit is very short, but the impact is emotional and will take time to work through.

The first thing to note is that the Sun and Moon are in a high state of discord. Consider this a heightened period of conflict that will require lots of effort to overcome or transcend. Also, in a general sense, the Sun represents the leaders and people in positions of authority, and the Moon represents the types of things that will be on the minds of the masses.

The Sun as just moved into Aquarius. This ingress suggests that the energy pushes the leaders towards total independence. There will be a deep-down drive to get out from under any restrictions that have been holding them down. The energy will drive them with an unreleasing passion to break their bondage or at least fight until they feel free.

The people will be quick to their assessment of their surroundings and their determination will be strong. There is an underlying creative and courageous energy that drives the people. Being at nearly 1-degree Leo, the people will be driven to lead themselves or at least try.

The friction will most likely manifest and anger, pride and conceit from the ruling class and the population works out the discord.

Uranus sits at the center of the square making the situation explosive particularly with right-wing political people. This sets up situations of unrest, upheaval, strikes and riots. Keep in mind that Uranus is in Aries which will embolden each side and energize everyone to contribute to the fight.

Pallas is also in for the fight particularly against the leaders of the world, as written about in the Uranus Eris conjunction. This energy that has been pushing leadership to uphold a higher moral standard has been raging through Europe for the last few months, this eclipse should bring this energy out on a global scale.

Now, on both sides of the Moon we have supportive energy that is highly emotional. Chiron is in Pisces which will accentuate the compassion of the people, but seeing that it’s coming from Chiron, we should expect it to be because the population is suffering. Chiron deals with healers, thus there must be a flair of pain coming for the people.

On the other side of the Moon we find Ceres which is the energy of nurturing, growing and caring for a family. It is a defensive energy in that Ceres protects what she nurtures and she’s willing to do this against any opposition. Expect the people to react visibly to any dishonesty that is displayed in the leaders. This energy is known to be like instant karma that the leaders should look out to not get involved with.

Ceres in Scorpio (28°) Opposition (~180°) Juno in Taurus (24°)

– Vesta in Aquarius (24°) Square (~90°) Ceres Juno
– Moon in Leo (1°) Trine (~120°) Ceres
– Mercury in Capricorn (25°) Trine (~120°) Juno
– Uranus in Aries (29°) Quincunx (~150°) Ceres
– Pluto in Capricorn (21°) Trine (~120°) Juno
– Chiron in Pisces (29°) Trine (~120°) Ceres

What’s new? Sun leaves trine, Moon is added. Pallas and Eris leave quincunx, Uranus is added.

Another aspect that seems to be playing out mostly between the asteroids is the Ceres Juno Opposition. Remember that Ceres is the energy of nurturing and it’s in a sign that honors deep relationships, true friendships and can be passionate and determined. Juno represents the energies regarding how you are faithful or loyal. Juno comes from an earth sign that is sensual, tactile and determined. Yet these two energies are in opposition. Note that the time period for this opposition stretches from mid-December to the start of April (all winter). This can bring up a time where one will be willing to fight for family or to fight to protect the things that have been worked on for a long period of time.

This opposition will bring out emotions in the range of: grief, unbearable loss, depression, deprivation, spousal abuse, powerlessness, rage, unfairness, betrayal and bitterness.

– Vesta in Aquarius (24°) Square (~90°) Ceres Juno

To this collection, we add Vesta in a position to agitate both Ceres and Juno. This energy comes from a place that is willing to fight for the cause with an intellectually independent spirit. This energy would normally accentuate the attributes of a perfect wife, but here, we could see family issues, fear of intimacy, insecurity all play out with passion.

– Moon in Leo (1°) Trine (~120°) Ceres

Note that one of the changes to this configuration for this eclipse is that the Sun has stepped out and the Moon has stepped in. This removes the leaders from the world from this energy that wants to facilitate nurturing and deep relationships. Seeing that the Moon is now taking its place, this energy will be focused towards the masses which will put a focus on how people show their loyalty and what it is that they value in their deeper relationships. The people are the ones that will feel the emotions that come through this opposition.

– Mercury in Capricorn (25°) Trine (~120°) Juno
– Pluto in Capricorn (21°) Trine (~120°) Juno

Another change we see in this aspect is that Juno is being supported by the Mercury Pluto conjunction. Mercury will quickly bring up issues with regards to communication between people so as to support loyalty issues. There will be practical conversations that stand to build or reinforce long term bonds between people.

The influence from Pluto, which is in an earth sign that is ruled by Saturn, will make sure that if there are issues with regards to your loyalty with someone, that activity will most likely be discovered and brought out in the open to be talked about. The aspects to loyalty are harmonious right now and will be for a few more weeks.

– Chiron in Pisces (29°) Trine (~120°) Ceres

The energies from Chiron hint that there may be some pain with regards to what we’re nurturing, but it leads to spiritual growth and deeper understandings.

– Uranus in Aries (29°) Quincunx (~150°) Ceres

For a week before and after the eclipse, Uranus will be inconjunct to Ceres suggesting that this period of time will be filled with moments of impatience, moodiness and aggressiveness that seems to come out of nowhere that turn pleasurable situations into more painful ones. That explosive, or unexpected energy will be directed towards things that you have been passionate about, or determined to see work out.

Pallas in Libra (27°) Trine (~120°) Vesta in Aquarius (24°)

– Sun in Aquarius (1°) Square (~90°) Pallas
– Mercury in Capricorn (25°) Square (~90°) Pallas
– Pluto in Capricorn (21°) Square (~90°) Pallas
– Ceres in Scorpio (28°) Square (~90°) Vesta
– Juno in Taurus (24°) Square (~90°) Vesta

What’s new? Both the Sun and Mercury are added square against Pallas.

Here we have another asteroid collection that’s going to sing for a few months. The shortest aspect is the trine set for 51 days and the longest aspect is with Pluto for 144 days. The two squares with Vesta last about 90 days. Pluto is waning, but the other energy is building into late January and should dissolve come spring. What we get to add is the Sun and Mercury square which is only a short highlight to the overall influence.

The key architypes are feminine with the innate ability to get things done. Keep in mind that Pallas is the energy that just knows, without having to be told, what is right and just. Being in Libra, we should see this it working towards bringing balance to situations in a non-confrontational way. There is synergetic support with Vesta which is an energy wants to bring out the purest potential in a situation as it influences full focus on committing to what’s at hand. Vesta is going to want to create an energy that will feed holding your ground and wanting to talk out problems.

The agitation comes from all the other aspects. The desire to fight is going to be enhanced as Pluto creates dissidence with Pallas from Capricorn. This will probably color the vision so as to bring the worst things into focus. Seeing that this energy has peaked, but still near that peak, people may find it hard to see the good in others or other situations. Knowing that Pluto brings up those deep dark secrets so they can be transformed and that Pallas is the energy of intuitively knowing what is just and true, we should expect this time to be a time of discovery and recognition regarding right and wrong.

The energy from Ceres is going to accentuate and remind us how much we don’t like drama and the lies that are associated with it. This energy is all about the energy that we put into growing things and how much we don’t like this process being disturbed. When disturbed, it brings out the emotional fire of instant karma. Expect this energy to challenge people with regards to what they are devoting their time to as well as bringing up feelings of grief and depression around friendships and the underlying theme of secrets revealed.

The Juno square is going to bring up for evaluation the aspects of loyalty, particularly to those that are more sensual, sensitive and inherently loyal. This can create situations where one may feel powerless, inferior, submissive or bitter. Being up against Vesta, it really brings into focus the aspect of home and everyday family life or the intimacy between lovers.

To this collection we add agitation from the leaders of the world. It’s as if the leadership that is fighting to free itself as it steps into Aquarius is going to push hard against the positive relationship that we see here between the female warrior that knows what’s right that lives within the mother that is the perfect wife. It’s as if the leaders stand to threaten what the mother holds scarred. Mercury being in this square suggests that the conflict might be with responsibilities, education, and things requiring quality workmanship. It should also show that this will be talked about in the media if only for a short while.

Being predominately slow-moving feminine planets, these energies should be relatively low level throughout the winter creating a focus on family life and the intimate relationship that is associated with that. It will challenge a re-evaluation of what drives your loyalty for that intuitive feeling of just knowing what is right and wrong will surface giving everyone the opportunity to fight for what is right.

In Conclusion

Next report, I’ll break into smaller pieces and refer back to these major shower moving configurations.

Thanks for reading.
